Federal Judge Cites RMB Consulting Expert Witness Testimony in Granting $27m Summary Judgment

The United States District Court for the Southern District of California today granted a Summary Judgment against defendants Vicxon Corporation, a Korean corporation, and Soo Jong Yeo, a Korean citizen. In granting summary judgment and awarding plaintiffs $27,758,200, Judge M. James Lorenz extensively cited RMB’s expert report.

Stack Overflow Blog Passes Another Major Milestone

The popular embedded systems blog Stack Overflow maintained by RMB Consulting President Nigel Jones passed the 500,000 page view mark some time in late 2012. Nigel Jones stated, “Stack Overflow has become a valuable resource for the embedded systems community. More importantly the blog now has 1500 comments from a highly intelligent readership that helps provide further insight to topics under discussion.”

Toyota agrees to $1.2B settlement

Today Toyota agreed to a $1.2B – $1.4B settlement to economic loss claims related to sudden unintended acceleration cases. The lead counsel for the class action suit, Steve Berman said: “After two years of intense work, including deposing hundreds of engineers, pouring over thousands of documents and examining millions of lines of software code, we are pleased that Toyota has agreed to a settlement that was both extraordinarily hard-fought and is exceptionally far-reaching,” RMB Consulting’s President Nigel Jones was part of the team that spent most of 2012 examining the Toyota engine control module firmware referred to by Berman. DISH Network Judgement Award over $65M

31st May 2012

Today Federal Judge the Honorable William V. Gallo for the Southern District of California granted summary judgment in a case brought by DISH Network against Sonicview USA et al. The judgment awarded DISH Network $64,980,200 against the Sonicview Defendants, and $984,800 jointly against Duane Bernard and Courtney Bernard, as well as permanently enjoining the defendants and ordering them to destroy all remaining inventory. Judge Gallo’s order made extensive reference to expert reports submitted by RMB Consulting’s president Nigel Jones.

The United States District Court for the Southern District of California today granted a Contempt Motion against defendant Christopher Whitcomb. In granting the contempt motion, Judge Thomas Whelan made numerous references to evidence presented by RMB Consulting.

Blue Water Imagineering, LLC, Retains RMB Consulting to Finish a Product

Blue Water Imagineering’s development of a new product had stalled as the technical challenges were beyond the capabilities of the existing design team. Blue Water has turned to RMB Consulting to quickly fix the problems so that the product will be ready for launch at a major trade show in November.

The United States District Court for the Southern District of California today granted a Preliminary Injunction against defendants Christopher Whitcomb & ProSonicview. In granting the PI, Judge Thomas Whelan extensively cited RMB’s expert report in finding that the plaintiffs had “demonstrated a substantial likelihood of prevailing on the merits of its DMCA claim.”

Federal Judge Cites RMB Consulting Expert Witness Testimony in Awarding $214 Million Judgment

The United States District Court for the Southern District of California entered a judgment in the amount of $214,898,600.00 and permanent injunction against Viewtech, Inc. and its principal Jung Kwak. In entering the judgment, Judge Roger Benitez cited RMB’s expert report that “Defendants’ receivers are designed and produced to circumvent Plaintiffs’ security measures.”  With this award, DISH Network has received judgments of over $1B in actions in which RMB Consulting has filed expert reports.

Federal District Course Judge Jack Zouhary has awarded plaintiff DISH Network a $626,000,000 summary judgment against Global Technologies, Inc. In entering the judgment, Judge Zouhary cited the expert report of RMB Consulting President Nigel Jones. To date, DISH Network has received judgments of nearly $1B in actions in which RMB Consulting has filed expert reports.

Plaintiff Withdraws Lawsuit Following Submission of an Expert Report by RMB Consulting on Behalf of the Defendant

RMB Consulting’s president Nigel Jones was retained as an embedded systems expert witness by defendant T.E.S. in a contract dispute with Eutronix. The plaintiff had filed breach of contract and fraud claims against T.E.S. The expert report of Nigel Jones addressed both these topics and showed them to be without merit. Shortly after the defendant presented the report and other supporting evidence, the plaintiff agreed to drop the lawsuit.

Sensortech Systems Retains RMB for Embedded Systems Consulting and Embedded Systems Design to Update an Existing Product

RMB Expert Witness Testimony Helps Win $121.7M Judgment

Federal District Court Judge James Lorenz has granted plaintiff DISH Network’s motion for a Preliminary Injunction against Sonicview (PDF). In granting the motion, Judge Lorenz cited the expert report of RMB Consulting President Nigel Jones approximately 17 times and Jones’ supporting declaration 12 times. As a result of the PI, defendant Sonicview is no longer able to distribute the iHub.
